Dale Burke - Threshold

Burke’s painting practice has been informed by his background in film and photography. He draws inspiration from found imagery, re-working and building layers of shifting juxtapositions. Figures become archetypes in nature tracing a gestural narrative suspended in a fluid hyper coloured terrain. Recently working in Lutruwita/Tasmania, Burke’s surrounding and overarching landscapes become metaphorical; theatrical symbolism, real and unreal, transversing an inner world and echoing singular moments of passage and transition.
